    Hey!
Am I the only one who thinks the people who are criticising James are perhaps
a little spoilt. Are we taking him for granted perhaps? James is the greatest
sing in rock music at the moment. You want proof Ok - parents! A couple of
years back I was playing IAW(loud!) as you do and my mum heard it and she said
what " a nice singer he was" then my dad(whose into Pavarotti, Mario Lanza -
people who sing properly even though I cant stand them) said to quote "its
nice to hear one of your singers who actually sings properly". You only have
to listen to the live tracks on ACOS to hear his versatility.
The only guy who comes close is Geoff Tate and I saw hime on the Promised Land
tour in Wolverhampton(Uk) and he spoilt the show, he was awful - perhaps I
just caught him on a bad night. The gut from Fates is very good too but isnt
    in the same league.

No, you're right. The singer (Warrel Dane) and someone else (guitarist?)
from Sanctuary formed Nevermore. I've got the first Sanctuary album (Refuge
Denied), and hope to get the second album and the Nevermore albums soon.

I presume you know that Warrel Dane will be singing for Chuck Schuldiner's
new band (Control Denied) on the next album. Should be good!

I love Pearl Jam and I'm not ashamed to admit it, but you all know that I live In ODDVILLE NY. I have PJ tix already, BTW. I said my friend because didn't know if would be afraid of admitting he likes PJ on the jam! Anyway, why wouldn't they be able to use FT&T for St Louis? They have locations all over the US. There's a different 1-800 number for every venue. (You know, I originallly thought FT&T stood for Fuck Ticketmaster and Ticketron or something like that, but it turns out to be Fans, Tours, and Tickets. Maybe a little double entendre?)

Live is meant to be live. When you have a live recording, you can actually notice al the mistakes and whatever. When you're in a sweaty mosh pit, you have so much adrenaline running through you between the bodies all around you and the fact that one of the greatest bands in the world are on stage in front of you. I'm sure that if I was at a DT show, my opinion would change. As far as singing goes, I have always said James is a great singer. No one expects him to be perfect. I don't think that any jammers should replace James. I'm quite content with his voice. This thread has gone on too long. I'm repeating myself by saying the same thing every day. The James threads always seem to pop up and they get quite annoying.

You'll be glad you did! And I really like that song Flood. I guess I'd really love the rest! Anyone else have an opinion of JoC? I also heard that the album is produced by Adrian Belew. Is this true?

Oh, one last thing. I just got the ONLY Working Man left in upstate NY. Pretty kewl, huh? I haven't listened to it yet, but I looked through the booklet, and I saw the other Magna Carta stuff. Anyone have any info on the Floyd tribue? One more last thing. Could someone tell me who is from Fates Warning on this album? I don't know them by names.

    Hi there,

Some of you have probably exchanged words on one or two occasions with this little troll and I thought you might be happy to know that, true to his stripes, his rampant distaste for everything that fails to be QR is alive and well. Although I don't normally get involved in this kind of thing, there is a point at which the march of the putrid must be stopped, or at the very least, impeded. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Long live the Theater in all its Majesty! (pun intended)

You didn't really expect the Dream Theater drummer to tone it down to play for the benefit of the song, did you? You should know by now that DT members are out to impress the listener with their show off attitude which ruins the songs. That's why I can't get into them. They can't write songs to save their lives. I guess they ruined enough of their songs, so they had to ruin someone elses now.

Okay folx, as promised, I'd find out more info.

It's Resurrection Drums' annual "Drum Fest" and many others will be appearing as well. I don't remember, nor do I really care. ;) But the whole shebang starts at 12pm on Sept 21st. I won't have a chance to get down to the store to buy my ticket, so I don't know the location.

If you want your own ticket, you're gonna have to call Resurrection Drums at (954)457-9020 so you can schlep your butt down there to buy the ticket... $5.

I would offer to pick up tix for needy jammers, but I *just* started a new job and I won't be getting another paycheck for a while and I need every spare dollar I can scrounge. Why do you think I haven't bought _Test For Echo_ yet, nor do I plan to pick up the new Steve Vai on Tuesday. :(

They can't write songs to save their lives? Hmm. Let's look at your favorite band's last album, called "promised land" and let's put that, song for song, against "awake". Musically, Lyrically, and Performance-wise Dream Theater out classes, let alone out plays Queensryche.

Yeah, same here. Too bad there isn't an entire disc of SDV-type stuff...yet (I'm anxious for a KevMo CD). On some of my gloomy, semi-depressed-feeling days, I pop in some Saviour Machine, or SMII, or even QR's "Someone Else?" and "Anybody Listening?" They usually complement my solemn attitude quite well. Geez, I guess there's music for every occassion. I pitty all those "passive listeners" (of which I doubt any on this list are), you don't know what you're missing out in music... :)

music, music, i hear music, music, i hear music, music... [KX]

Actually, we were kinda hoping that Mike *would* be popping in to stay with us for a while ;-)
